Frenchieboy
We all hear a few "horror stories" about how long some people have to wait for their FAC to arrive of how long it takes to get a variation put on now and again but this time I really do have to say a big "Very Well Done Lancashire Constabulary!" I posted my FAC off by 1st Class Recorder Delivery this Monday at lunch time to get my old .22LR Semi Auto taken off and have the "slot" opened up so that I can go ahead anf get my Ruger 10/22 and low and behold when I got back from Aldi what was waiting for me on the doorstep - Yes, my new FAC. Now a service like that deserves full credit to the Lancashire Constabulary Fire Arms Office and all of their staff! Has anyone else experience a 72 hour turnround service like this? Well done everyone involved, you deserve all the praise you get!!!!! :o Edited February 4, 2010 by Frenchieboy
steve_b_wales
Nice to hear that some police forces get it right. Mine (South Wales Police) have always been on top form (for me anyway) 1-1 variations take less than a week. Renewals take approx 2 weeks And when I first applied for a firearms certificate in the early 1980's, from the day of posting my application to receiving my certificate (inc the weekend) took one week. al4x
Herts took 5 days from me posting a variation for a centrefire to visiting and posting it back to me which was blindingly fast. Did warn me though when renewal came round I was in a year thats going to be bad so get it in as early as possible

Agree with the above South Wales police issued my SGC and fair play to them, from application to visit to licence turning up was 9 days that has to be fast in anyones books Hope they are just as fast with my FAC when i apply later this year
