robbobsam
Hiya Guys, I went shooting yesterday with my new gun and was frozen within 1 hour and had to retire. Can someone give me advice on some gloves. Obviously they have got to give me good grip to hold my gun but they must also be warm or they will be pointless. Can you give me some advice please. steve_b_wales
Welcome to PW. You can buy some good quality gloves for under £10. I have a cammo pair which are okay on cold days. Check out your local gunshop/s to see what's available. Also, it depends what your budget is as well.
henry d
I use woolen fingerless gloves which have a mitt that pulls over to keep the fingertips warm when there is little happening and the main thing for warmth is they go right up the wrist, about 2-3" and this keeps the blood flow going and your hands toasty. COACH
I use golfing gloves because they keep your hands warm and you can still feel the trigger. That's very important when shooting in competitions.
Cosd
I use Thinsulate fingerless gloves from Millets which work well, I also use an S-Boston hand warmer for really cold days.
fancyacuppa
Howdoo's Shhh. I use the Missus Oven Gloves, she is always wondering how they tend to disapear on a sat afternoon. Nice & warm they are, one problem, i can't pull the trigger! Makes for a cheaper outing though........................

Beardo
i like my macwet shooting gloves, keep my hands warm enough most of the time - if it's stupidly cold i tend to wear neoprene ones over the top
Colster
As has been said on here before, it maybe you're not wearing enough layers on your body. Keeping your core warmer will mean you lose less heat in your extremities. I use MacWets, great gloves that give enough warmth for me without losing feel. For ferreting I just use a pair of those thinsulate ones you see everywhere - garden centres etc. Warmer than the MacWets but you wouldn't want to shoot with them on.
