mpk
Went out today and shot a few clays (Few being the operative word lol) and on pulling my winchester 1400 apart for a clean i noticed on the raised part inside the barrel ( sorry dont know what theses are called) it seems that 3 of them have either grinded down/been grinded down or they spilt off ? Is this normal and am i just being paranoid or is there a bit of a problem? this is my first semi auto and i have not had it long ......... (excuse the quality of the pics there off my phone)

tweedledee
if it is then it may be fatal. the gun would surely be dangerous to use.

mpk
Are you looking at the gas ports a few inches down the bore of the gun hi , If you mean the two little holes down towards the centre of the barrel its not those its right at the bolt end were the barrel joins the main body . dunganick
It looks like 4 to me. The bottom 2 most significantly and the ones at 3 and 9 oclock less significantly. However i would say it looks like a feed ramp, so the shell doesnt hang up as the bolt pushes it forward into the chamber.
MM
sorry trying to upload the pics but it wont let me says the file is to big but I bet they are the grooves the bolt locks into ( now i feel silly and i havent even got the pictures on yet ) why feel silly? if you had left it and something had been dangerously wrong with it........then you would have felt really silly.
