whitehackle
hi i;ve been thinking about getting a reflex ( over barrel) type moderator for mycz452 are they any good is the sound reduction on par with a sak? they are quite expensive and i dont want to get one if they dont perform .another option would be to shorten my 20 inch barrel to 16 and keep sak moderator what do you think ? cheers Edited February 26, 2010 by jclowes
Pipmoff
For a .22lr using subs you may as well stick with a sak they are nice and quiet. Although my mate chopped his cz down to under 14" and put on a dm80 mod and it makes it a nice short gun although the noise difference between the two is not that much. bicykillgaz
not too sure about the reflex mate but the quietest mod i've heard on a .22lr is a sako and between me my dad and a few friends i've heard a fair few, plus the sako is only £30 i've got one on my cz-452 varmint .22lr
albob
i use a p/h on my 22lr and that is very quiet. al
bicykillgaz
i use a p/h on my 22lr and that is very quiet.al you'll be impressed with a sako then, i use to have a p/h on mine and got a sako for £30 and i've fired mine side by side with a p/h my mate's got on his cz and the sako is noticably quieter, plus there not as fiddly to clean as the baffle is a one piece plastic thing inside the can, i wouldn't go back to p/h now

dave dog
Have hread that you can't shorten a cz barrel as it has it is choked barrel. So the gunsmith i use told me. Dave
steve_b_wales
I use a SAKO mod and also a SAK one as well. I would say that there is no difference between them, they are both good.
Dekers
wildcat whisper or growler Just what is it you are trying to achieve, the Whisper is not that much over the barrel and is heavy, and the 2 people I have known who bought one both decided it was the biggest waste of £125 they had made...and sound reduction wise I agreed, the difference on a .22lr with subs compared to a SAK was MINIMAL. The Growler is something I know very little about, it is meant to be ok, but at that price it flaming well better be!! Simple fact is for £30 (ish) most are more than happy with the likes of a SAK, I certainly am!!! Edited February 26, 2010 by Dekers
bennyblanco
Sako on mine here too, its very quiet- had a SAK which was good too and a touch shorter. Basically anything half decent is going to be quieter than the THWACK of the impact, mine handled much better when I cut it down to 16" ben

Dunkield
you need a new gunsmith,as it can be shortened. What he said, there must be thousands of chopped CZ's out there and if mine is anything to go by they are even more accurate after than before My advice to OP, get it chopped to 14" and buy a SAK . I have picked off 3 rabbits sitting no more than 10 feet away from each other and none of them knew what had happened - how much quieter does it need to be? sharpshot
saks are great but extend your barrel some. im about to get a wildcat whisper for .22 and .17hmr bit pricey but worth it and makes the rifle look pretty nice aswell ( bonus ). aswell as doing the job quietly
