MerseaDavid
I finally decided to get someone in to shoot our cover crops because the keeper would not allow anyone to shoot them and me and my boss got fed up with all the pigeons that are about, so I got in contact with a few friends to go and shoot 5 of our main cover crops. I showed them where the birds were and left them to it while I drove round keeping the birds moving for them before I went to get the quad track and drill ready. I spoke to the guys at the end of the day and between the 5 of them they shot 382 pigeons, 1 fox and 76 crows. Not a bad day and the strong wind helped them alot. MerseaDavid
Well soon we will be ploughing the cover crops and be drilling beans and peas so we wont to get rid of as many as possible but having a keeper who does not like people shooting does not help. MerseaDavid
we have thought about it but he is a good guy and pays good money. but if he does not start sorting the pigeons out he will be going, there are plenty of people who can take his place

Our keeper keeps telling us to get on the cover crops and reduce the number of pigeons as they are eating all the corn and barley.

I know of w few keeper who only allow a few guns to do some roost shooting and that is it :yp: But our one does not even allow that because he does not wont to worry any of his birds or deer. We come out of the woods before the phaesants go to roost when roost shooting. No shooting during the season but, during february to July, he is happy for us to go out and keep the number of vermin down. He is a top bloke and we are lucky
