How about being proactive and visiting local farms, shoots and offering help, which may in turn produce some shooting. Not such a thing as a free lunch. bothbarrels Posted March 5, 2010 Report Share Posted March 5, 2010 well i have little woods and a massive quarry and few grass fields and weat fields but no rape wots so ever You''ve got 2000 Acres? ....you could try getting a lamp and lamp the fields at night for the rabbits (would imagine the Quarry would be ok if it's safe to access and flat lower down?) try sitting down with a pair of binoculars and seeing if there are any pigeon flightlines, and setting a hide up underneath them, setting up a few deeks and a rotary on the wheat fields could spark some interest. also the pigeons probably come into the woods for a rest during the day, and have you watched to see if they are used for roosting in the evening? good luck mate BB. Ive just choked on my coffee when i read your post. 2000 acres, and you can find the rabbits and birds? have you ever thought about offering somebody a shoot on your land? somebody with a bit more experience maybe. The animals are there, but you sound like you dont understand how to work this land. RATTING? youve 2000 acres, and you want to go ratting? have another read of your post, and maybe put up a new one.
