Lez325
Arrived on the land at 06.45 am and set up a roofed hide made fom 3 camo nets and several adjustable poles- as the flight line and wind direction brought the birds in above and behind the hide We placed out 20 sillosock decoys camoed up and sat for around 10 mins- the 1st bird came in low and fast - I nailed it and so it went for the next hour total now reached 6- everytime Chris had a coffee - In they came- must be a Somerset thing My mate Chris who doesnt have a shotgun yet, tried his hand with my A 303 semi auto 12 bore and took one out flying high and left to right ( nice shooting Chris for a newbie) Im sure you'll improve with practise fella The rest of the time on this patch- I managed a futher 9 - total now 15 - 3 we lost in a Miscanthus field right behind the hide and as this plantation was 8 - 9 feet high we decided not to search for them- but they died in the air wings back head down My best shot a very high fast bird and even Chris remarked what a cracking shot it was- I was pleased with that too we left after 2 hours as the woodies moved on. - But 12 birds the richer which Chris took home -Hope you enjoy them mate- I know you love to cook heres the photo- Me the A 303 ( clothed in Real Tree Advantage Timber) and a dozen of Somersets finest eating Les Edited March 9, 2010 by Lez325
