JONO
Hi, I don't own a magnet for weight reasons and tend to find that, after a slow start, a couple of bouncers start speeding up the action after the first couple of birds come into the pattern. Thing is, the world has moved on to hyperflappy, sillysocky type dekes for whirlies but can anyone recommend a standard flying pigeon deke for bouncers? Thanks, Jon
Cranfield
If its weight/bulk you want to avoid, invest in Hypaflaps, these are better than the full bodied decoys with foam wings. Better and cheaper, is to always keep a couple of birds in the freezer. I have found that in the recent cold weather they last quite a few days out of the freezer. tomhw100
Dead bird always the best for bouncers/magnets definitely!
Billy.
Yup, dead birds are the best decoys
Cosd
Hyperflaps on the bouncer look brilliant, with a bit of wind they flap and create good movement in your pattern. Very lightweight and compact too!!
JONO
Hyperflaps then. Thanks. I appreciate real'uns are the best'uns but sometimes I just don't fancy shoving a spike up a bird (frozen or otherwise) 's **** ... Cheers all, Jon Edited March 15, 2010 by JONO
malkiserow
I had some hyperflappers on a magnet a week ago - always good. BUT the battery was low (how stupid and I ) and soon ran out of puff. I left it out stationary and with the hyperflappers on, and before the smart-***** comment, yes I had shot plenty of pigeons but I wanted to see how it went with the deeks. Shooting continued just as before
mosa
My mate has some hyperflappers and i agree they look good but look worn in a short time. I had 1 of hawkeyes bouncers out today (another one arriving soon) and with that being a flocked full bodies with foam wings it was very impressive and i had loads of pigeon interest. Cant wait to have 2 out there. Hope this helps mate
kdubya
first off bouncers are that IE bouncers hypa flaps on poles are anything but bouncers as they are to light to create a bouncing swaying movement in wind, true they do have movement via the flapping motion given by wind, if you want to use hypas's use them on a rotary and if weight is a problem get a hypalite? mine is strapped to my bergen always ready if I need it, the weight is negligible compared to a windscreen motor type rotary, if you really dont want a rotary and only want to shoot "light" but in windy conditions only, then two of the type of bouncer hawkeye and mag357 knock out, are as good as it gets, oh and yes real birds are effective (as they should be) but first you have to get them then you have to stop them tipping over in strong wind, so in my opinion if you don't want to shell out a fair few bob for a hypalite and two hypaflaps then the best all round carry anytime is a couple of hawkeye's bouncers, but remember all bouncers or static hypa's need wind to work!
