ME
In my quest for a Lightweight (of my own ) I stumbled across a Landrover 101 Forward Control on an auction site. Like this one - Anyone had one / know about these ?

tosspot
ME, i've driven the GS (general service) and an ambulance bodied one, great fun in small doses, you need arms like Popeye, and jeez that V8 likes a drink esp when crawling around in the low gears off road
Delbert
In my quest for a Lightweight (of my own ) I stumbled across a Landrover 101 Forward Control on an auction site. Like this one - Anyone had one / know about these ? Try the owners club or this Linky small cabin, drinks like Oliver Reed, beautiful V8 grumble easy parking in supermarkets cos all the silly nellies keep well away. I still prefer the Range Rover btw. webber
Always wanted one, convert to LPG, great fun; but get the impression that as I backed it down the drive, Mrs. webber would be going in the opposite direction. Now there's a thought! webber
HDAV
Alot were 24V radio wagons interesting vehicle used as artillery tractors ambulances radio wagons and for light transport (i think they were air portable or canvas versions were)
sooty 54
Very thirsty due to low gearing ,i think you can fit range rover diffs to up the gearing .Some parts are hard to get hold of,especially gear linkage bits . Brilliant fun though .
Tank
I've seen them in the mud a few times, very capable, but nowt compared to a mog. They are British though. Although that engine is the rover unit so technically a Buick
limestone_cowboy
I sold mine two weeks ago. I am a bit of a Landy nut but I found that although the 101 is a sweet truck it has niether use nor purpose to anybody living surburbia. 101= every land rover owners dream BUT keep it a dream unless you are totally comitted, have loads of spare cash and can fix anything
