Hi all

Have'nt posted for a while now, been very busy and had loads of other issues.

Still check in on a regular basis though. Not really been out to much over the last few months but when i have it seems to be as a SCARECROW :hmm::lol: with just a few birds and rabbits shot of late.

Anyway got a call from the farmer whist scarecrowing lol, drilled some fields with beans and there was a lot of woodies and crows on them and would we shoot the fields for him.

Of course not been one to disappoint we attended the very next day there were two 50 acre fields and not been able to do much recce, we watched the first and there only been a few crows decided to look at the other one about a mile away. we had not shot these fields before and looking at the second I liked the look and layout of this field. we watched this field and noticed a nice little flight line of crows and pigeons trickling over a hedge from the road. Decided to set up in the middle of the field were there was an old dried out pond surrounded by small trees and bushes and one medium sized tree. whilst unloading and setting up the birds were trying to get in all the time.

Anyway finally set up by 9.00am but i felt really uncomfortable in my hide could'nt see out as was sitting to low. I stood up and the birds where coming in from all angles crows and woodies me and my mate were shooting really well as some where really testing some where very easy. I think by 9.30 we must have had about 20 birds between us. It then steadied and was very steady by 12. we stayed taking some absolute crackers. finishing the the day with a total of 62 would have been a lot more had we shot better.

Went again Monday me and my uncle sat in the same place and my mate sat it out on the other field, the sport was really good again but much more steady and consistant , very strong wind actually made it a little akward as they where like little missles but had some great fun ended up with 43 total.

My mate shot 70+ but none of us had a good shot to kill ratio :good:

Probably a bit busy the next couple of weeks, so a bit disappointed as we got peas and linseed going in soon. never mind will try to get out when i can.

Total 22 woodies, 13 jackdaws, 14 rooks, 3 crows and 10 ferals
