verminator69
Decided that it was a nice evening to go for a stalk then on arrival at estate got talking to the owner when he was spraying today that he had seen a nice buck!! The area were he had seen it i had a high seat in situe so of i went..Got myself nice and comfy, was only there 20mins and i spy him 200yds down the wood he had been layed up in some rhoddyes. After another 10 mins or so of thrashing his head at small bushes and taking his frustration out on some new saplings he decided to walk up a track towards me.Happy days he was getting closer all the time he got with in 80yds of me and i thought he was going to disapear into the rhoddyes i took the shot down he went.Walked over to him after a couple of mins,a nice six pointer but not medal quality. docholiday
Not concerned as have been stalking for many years, we culled just over 60 does this winter, I am mentoring someone at the momment and whilst we have been out and seen a few, just not been able to get one in the larder since the doe season ended. interesting to see the hard antlers as all the roe bucks I have seen so far(about 12) have been in velvet. Doc ps I agree just being out is great, I love this time of the year, the does seem to know they are safe, had a couple come within 30 to 40 feet the other day, could spend all day watching them.
