majordisorder
Well I finally bought my first shotgun after around 3 months of looking. It's a s/h Browning 525 a little battered on the wood work and in need of a bit of tlc but the action looks and feels tight although I've just noticed a bit of something rattling around inside around the trigger area. May be a firing pin problem? The obvious major problem if you can call it that is that it's right cast and with me being a lefty is not feeling as good as it should when mounted. Can any one recommend a good gun fit / gunsmith specialist in the northampton / Mk area who will be able to make it fit like a glove? I know of at least 4 or 5 gun shops in the area but would like to know people's experiences Here's looking forward to trying it out this weekend. steve_b_wales
Good luck with your first shotgun. You'll never forget it, no matter how long you keep it for.
utectok
Mmm ur gonna struggle with a right handed gun you'll want that fixed. If you can get a old leftie stock that will do!

Good Luck with your new gun - I can highly recommend Norman Clarke (Rugby), not to far for you

majordisorder
Just got back from Northampton Gun Co where they've given it a clean bill of health mechanically (good to know I didn't buy a lemon) Time to give it a go and see how the fit is. beretta
some years ago a friend of mine bought a new gun and was shooting way above his normal for 6 months with it. then someone pointed it out it was a left handed stock he was right handed. got into his head so he sold it on. :yp: left or right, if it shoots where you point keep it. majordisorder
Had my first pop with the new gun yesterday at Northampton Shooting Ground. Geoff, one of the instructors there had a quick look at the fit for me, raised my comb by about 1.5mm with a natty pink bit of foam rubber and off I went on their Sporting layout. Weirdly despite being the 2wrong cast" for me it seems to fit pretty well otherwise. 14/30 first ever solo outing on esp followed by an 11/25 on Skeet, no records being broken. I've got a lot to learn, but all I know is I wish I'd taken this up years ago. I'm also hoping for a couple more outings before the North v South so I can help beat the pesky Northern crew! adam scott
i've just put a deposit down on a browning! love them! i borrowed a 525 not too long ago as i like the way browning's fit me. but the bloke i borrowed this gun off did not look after it! barrels were in terrible shape and also needed re-blueing! also one thing put me right off was the top ejector jammed alot! personally i put it down to poor keeping! a little oil would of done it the world of good. Funny you say that about the top ejector, mine's a bit sticky too.
