Colster
Notice the seller has added the following: Ive had alot of people asking about the performance of this rifle and weather or not it requires a sect 5 firearms licence. The simple answer is..... With PBA (performance ballistic alloy) ammunition it does 1600fps, so u wud need a licence.. however with normal led pellets it doesn't prove to be the same power. Providing you use normal ammunition you wouldn't need a licence. There are loop whole to everything ;-) It has a different spring fitted from the original by the way.. if anyone is still confused Section 5? Oh dear, so it's now a full auto air rifle too? Now it's a long while since I did maths but I make 1600fps with a his uber gold plated stuff (5gn) about 28ft/lbs, I can't see that going up a couple of grains would bring it below 12 but hey what do I know... apart from I'd love to turn up with a chrono and say "Don't mind if I check now do you?" .... add to this if a pellet can make it go over, it's FAC in the eyes of the law
hyflier
I think the ad has been taken down and archived now. Well done PW members With a bit of luck the seller will get a little visit from the Police

hyflier
Thanks Colster, I just read that article and I have one or two issues with it. Firstly they actually admit the loss of energy because of the lightweight pellet, ok it goes faster but is so light it can't retain the energy required in the field. The chrono feet per second to energy conversion being: Velocity squared, multiplied by the pellet weight, and divided by 450240 Secondly they claim supersonic results. To convert feet per second to MPH, multiply the fps by 0.682 The speed of sound varies with air temperature, but will be somewhere around 720 to 740 MPH and any projectile is subjected to phenominal forces when passing through the sound barrier. I've not used this airgun ammunition admittedly, but I am already sceptical of the claims Now I've woken up properly, I just checked their calculations. Whether using the RWS Hobby pellets or the Gamo this air rifle was already above the legal uk limit. Using the Hobby (6.93 grains) it was putting out 15.95 ft lbs and with the Gamo pellets (5.0 grains) it increased slightly to 16.13ft lbs..... So this air weapon should never have made into the uk market at all. Edited July 3, 2010 by hyflier

Surely a pellet of 6.93gns will give a larger Muzzle energy than a pellet of 5.0gns travelling at the same velocity?? As i said, i may have missed something and if i have, i promise to stand in the corner with my pointy hat (with a large letter D on!!) for one hour whilst sucking my thumb!! Mungler
Ah, so it was you lot that got my ad pulled Seriously though, it's all gone and disappeared, like an old oak table. It fires 4.5mm rounds (pelet) at around 1600 fps (feet per second) It will kill anything from rabbits, pidgeons, rats and anything else so long as you hit it in the right place.. This rifle was imported from spain as they are not sold in UK due to the power.. It comes with a original Gamo scope 3 - 9 x 40 The scope has all the right features a good scope should have. Windage (adjustable) Pitch (adjustable) lens covers. 3 - 9 zoom. This rifle has had about 300 rounds through it. It's in very good condition and will come with PBA ammo ( performance ballistic alloy ) I also have a co2 gas powered semi automatic 8 shot pistol (glock) Just get in touch for more info. Ive had alot of people asking about the performance of this rifle and weather or not it requires a sect 5 firearms licence. The simple answer is.....
