Westcountryman
It looks like my little BRNO Mod 2 needs to be re-screw cut. It was already done when I got it but won't group with a mod fitted. Tried a SAK and PH, both grouped like a shotgun I’m now looking for someone to check the thread with a view to getting it re-cut if required. I’ve spoken to Nigel Teague who will do it for £105+vat including proofing and the Glos Gun Company who will do it for the same but offer to do it without proofing at £65 if I am not planning to resell it, which I am not. Are there any other options in the wilts area? Or even Bath/Bristol? Or a local engineer who’s handy with a Lathe, as that’s needed.

sitsinhedges
It is probably just the shoulder that needs correcting if anything because that is what aligns everything. The thread just holds it on. That shouldn't be much of a job or need reproofing.
Paddy Galore!
Does seem like an awful lot of money for half an hours work, and that's including the cuppa. if the thread needs chasing, which i doubt, then you should be able to get away without re proofing, tho' it's more likely to be the shoulder as sitsin said. This shouldn't cost much at all, as it just needs trueing in a lathe, about 5 mins work.

Dekers
mckillopeng@hotmail.com 0118 9333100 Tell him Deker sent you, Neil McKillop is a top engineer and RFD, barrel and gunmaker, and responsible for the last FTT UK champions rifle. Based in Mortimer near Reading, he is a few miles but certainly closer than many mentioned. AND...he is NOT expensive and his work is the best you can get! He will insist on proof if he does work he deems requires it, but he may well be able to sort out your thread anyway, he did that for me on my WMR. If all else fails and he has to recut and Proof I would be very confident he can do it all for less than £105 you have been quoted!
