Bazooka Joe
Had some spare Antler after making a few Priests, so I decided to make myself a Shooting/Walking Stick. Thought I'd make it a bit different so I've capped the Twin Tops off with Brass Caps, add a Brass Name Plate to engrave my Initials, at the base I've Stained HardWood, with Two Brass Spacers. All I need now is a stick to put it on. BJ
deeksofdoom
It sure is a beauty do you turn the brass yourself? How are you going to attach the the antler to the shank?, those two little lugs in the bottom look a bit small and too short.

Hi D.O..D, the Brass isn't turned, just fitted to the end, then I use a belt sander to get it into shape, after that it's file work. The disc for the name is though, i make it an interference fit, & glue it in. The two little pins you see are just there to line the two brass plates up with the hardwood base, & the Antler, keeps them in the same position, nice & neat. They are not going to be used to attach to a stick. Mungler, haven't thought about knocking a few out yet, I'll let you know when, Thanks for the replies, appreciated, BJ

mick miller
Joe, you know your work is an inspiration. I don't think many appreciate how much time it can take to hand finish the antler, brass and horn to the level that you do although I think everyone can appreciate the end result! Another quality piece.
Bazooka Joe
I don't think many appreciate how much time it can take to hand finish the antler Hi Mick, yep your right, there's a bit work involved, & very time consuming, not the same as the Priests, but the attention to detail is the same. Thanks for the comments I'm feeling a bit now...lol Cheers, BJ
