Down South
I found this bullet the other day, looked like a plough had uncovered it. About 2.25" long and about .5 " dia. concave back end, a machined waist and line about .5" from flat tip. WW2 Fighter ? Sorry about the blurred pic. Catamong
It looks like a WW2 .303 round to me, could have been fired from an aircraft, as .303 machine guns were fitted to Spitfires. Catamong

Teal
Your comment was amusing, it's just I have a metal detector and was interested in hearing more details about it from Down South.
Down South
Sorry, no metel detector involved. It was just there in the middle of of a ploughed field waiting for me to stumble across it, you could almost say it was fate. On another day it could have been a crock of Roman gold. Yeh, as if!
