Well seen as quite a few are posting good bags on pigeon, thought i would post one on crows/jackies,much harder to decoy :lol::lol:

(only joking,before someone gets upset)

Well thought i would have a crack with the 20 gauge today,as it gets very little to no use.Got to the shoot about 5.30 and went to my normal area of late to ambush them on a flight line,i decided to take minimal kit with me today.

4xfull body crow decoys-clearview net-flapper-chinsticks-flask and snacks-gun and 150 shells and a bag to carry it all in

Didnt use the net, tucked in behind some ferns, bit of a natural hide, with a few trees behind me.

as you can see it offered good cover and a perfect ambush position :o

First bird down went straight onto the flapper, dont know why but just recently they seem to decoy better with fewer decoys

Well had some good shots, seemed to commit to the pattern very well, and after a couple of hours the pattern was getting pretty big

Had a couple of pigeons too :hmm:

so it was a cracking morning, was actually thinking of selling the 20 bore on :P however after today i think i will hang onto it for a while,a cracking little gun :hmm:

Finished the morning with 70 on the clicker, actually picked up 54,lost a few in the ferns and nettles,so left them for Charliepost-16664-1279971363.jpg

anyway must dash, bbq and **** up to go to :lol: BB (so it goes to show minimal kit, does work :D )

What did you do with them all?

The last time I thinned out a rookery many years ago, they were all left in the woods. A week later, not a trace of any dead carcasses!

Always get them together for a group photo  and then throw them into deep cover, ferns or nettles, and leave for charlie to do his work :good: (if hes chomping on them, chances are he will leave the piglets alone :) )

Never much left, the next time i go  as a result of the good clean up operation charlie does,i dont shoot him :good: his luck will eventually run out, when there aint no crows to shoot  BB
