It's probably fair to say that Hatsans were poor but have improved.

I own one of the ones that were poor and know what fettling it took to iron out the faults and I tend to shoot very well with it now.

It is also apparent that Hatsan are constantly updating their designs and parts including a self adjusting gas valve that is just coming onto the market.

They may never be a Beretta but at a third of the price who ever expected them to be. You may get just as much bang for your buck though and if it does malfunction take it back for a refund.

We bought one a year back and have been delighted with it. My Son uses it although I have the occasional blast with it too - it is fun to use!

We have NEVER experienced any cycling problems with ours - even with 21g cartridges! It amazes me.

We do keep it clean - but that's not difficult as it is so easy to take apart and clean.

Just a few tips ...

1. Always make sure the chokes are tight. As already mentioned on the thread some people have experienced problems. They certainly can work loose if they are not nipped up quite tight. I check ours every time we use the gun and haven't had them work loose since nipping them up tighter than I would for other guns.

2. Make sure you have an exploded diagram to help you when reassembling after cleaning. You'll soon get the hang of it - but the diagram helps initially.

3. Get a spare 'o' ring and keep it somewhere safe. We've not needed ours to date - but I'd hate for it to break or be lost and stop us from shooting because we didn't have a spare.

Good luck. They are fantastic value and I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I can't argue with this, they are getting better, nodoby in their right mind can expect them to be the quality of guns costing 2-3-4 times as much and things still go wrong with them, the real problem with some of the earlier models was that some of the things that could go wrong had a chance of killing you (or anyone stood next to you)! :sneaky2: :look:
