Man-o-woods
I am going to attept blueing the barrels on my AYA and wondered what the best method is. I have read instructions on some different methods and found some of them to be a real faf. Im looking for an easy but quality finish. Any suggestions? nobby63
Hi Bud , I prefer Birchwood casey Perma Blue Paste !! follow the simple instructions clean & prepare gun use safety wear protect hands use rubber/latex style gloves and after application instead of water rinse I used spray oil 3 in 1 and it works fine ! ive also tried liquid perma but prefrence is paste. Guest
I've been wanting my barrels re-blueing for a while now because they're very slightly rusted and rough to the touch! I was wondering approximately how much this would cost?
Cannon
I'm in the same boat and would like my barrels professionally finished, but can't find anywhere to get a quote Had looked at getting them dipped at hydrographics and they quoted me £65 for a pair of barrels which was quite reasonable. Blueing looks far better though

DIVERD
I did my old SBS last month, and was really worried about the results. The reason i did it myself was the materials (solvent, wire wool and gun blue are so cheap that if i made an **** of it i could still get it done professionally. However i am delighted with the results, it is everybit as good as my new gun and i am satisfied i did it myself. Worth a try in my mind, and minimal gamble if you take your time
vampire
Have done two guns now and the second one i did looks brand new if not better and i used caseys gun blu £7,its all in the prep if you get the barrell smooth and shiny with wet & dry paper using finer and finer grade as you go, your sorted, apply caseys with a small off cut of sponge, dont skimp on it and apply three coats, buff with dry rag and finish with oil for a superb job that looks professional
