andy_s
as the title says, how windy is too windy? i haven't been shooting pigeons that long and notice that most people agree that the wind against your back is the ideal for shooting pigeons but just when does the wind start to have an adverse affect on the pigeons? tomorrow weather forecast says 14mph winds, is this ideal or slightly too windy. i'll probably go out and give it a bash either way but just thought i's ask your opinions. thanks andy. larkspur
Have just got back from 2 hours shooting over standing/laid wheat. wind gusting 40/45mph and the pigeons kept coming in. Just the freezing rain that beat me but at least the farmer will be happy.

mikee
ive never found it to be too windy, most of my best days have been when its really blowing a gale, you do need to make the first shot count as you rarely get a 2nd when they lift into the wind and roar away mikee
Cranfield
I would guess only a hurricane is too windy for pigeon shooting.

THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Wind is more of a problem for rifle shooting. If wind is important keep a check here. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ You can enter your post code for a local area windchart. I use this for weather in general http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/
