fern 57
Hi all, on a few occassions when looking through the Trading Post Ads i have noticed people saying that they have noticed things for sale and wanted on other forums. Just wondered if anyone could tell me some of the forum names so that i can look these up many thanks.
Vince Green
Thats a good way of getting your thread deleted.

Dekers
Thats a good way of getting your thread deleted. Why? Is pigeon watch in direct competition to some of them? Always a delicate matter talking about/promoting other forums! Etiquette and all that.
scolopax
Really something I do not understand, just because there are other forums out there does not mean that the members here will abandon this site, most people look at several forums. Pigeon watch is by far the most active forum but two very good more 'specialist' forums are the stalking directory and the wildfowling forum. Billy.
This website generates some/most of its money through its advertisers. If people are freely allowed to advertise other forums which are of a similar topic, the advertisers may not be so keen to keep paying up, as they will probably feel as if they are not getting such a captive audience. The benefits of being the most popular forum is always a good sales point for new clients who wish to advertise. Whilst I am sure the site isn't directly 'competing' with other forums, PW may be trying to lower their risk of members (especially the newer ones) going elsewhere. HDAV
I am a member of several forums one i have nearly 30k posts on and advertise on, forums are odd places, most have far more viewers than members.... It's not difficult to google XXX forums.... for a topic... people will stay where they are most comfortable, some are all in jokes and will never grow others are too small to get enough posts and answers. A well organised and moderated forum with a properly administered classifieds section will prosper as long as the admin team put in the time and effort... for a laugh look at the forums forums...
