HDAV
As far as i can see they are cheaper and were the classic farmers walk about gun some single are specific to use like hushpowers but since the invention of semi autos singles have been left out, not many are still made Baikal & maybe one or 2 others. stubby
Hi I was just wondering what other people use there single barrel shot guns for? err shooting no, seriously, as post say's above, its a pedretti hushpower, so was bought as a live caught fox dispatcher, does a bloody good job, plus have one permission where noise is an issue, so although it mostly gets the rimfire, the pedretti is handy other times
wymberley
As said a classic walk about gun and lightweight with it. With the know-how and practice the Greener GP, assuming the second shot range was not excessive to start with, was "right and left" capable all day long. Cheers

Edward
I use my AyA cosmos for pretty much all my shooting and my greener gp for bunny shooting etc and I save my lincoln for game and clays (stupid I know but...)
Bleeh
I used to use a Bolt-action .410 all the time while ferreting - though a single shot it had the advantage of being able to uncock the gun without breaking it. This allowed me to uncock the gun, and carry it in sling while dealing with ferrets/rabbits etc and not worry about pointing a loaded gun where I'm not looking. kent
Far lighter, safer for a beginer due to the one shot thing. As for price that depends i am selling an AYA cosmos presently and i recon a gun of that quality made today would cost far more than a cheap or even some mid range doubles. For the back of the truck or quad vermin gun a lot can be said for them, for moderation the best choice as semis and pumps even discarge a lot of noise from the action area. COACH
My first ever gun was an AYA Cosmos s/b and I used it to shoot rabbits for about a year and a half. It had 3/4 choke so quite devastating out to 50yds. It got me a lot of dinners that gun.
Field Shooter
Hi I was just wondering what other people use there single barrel shot guns for? I have one and don't realy see any reason to use one over a double. I use mine as its the only shot gun i own at the minute My first gun was a Canna Cromata 12 bore 3inch magnum choked full, we had it bored out a tight half which produced excellent patterns. Lovely little gun light, easy to mount and swing but still enough weight to handle heavy loads for fox although 3inch magnums give you a bit of a belt. After graduating to side by sides and finally pumps we have have kept it and now use it as the family gun to train the kids with and a bit of fun with clays every now and then. One thing though it does teach you to make every shot count as you don't have a quick second one fore back up
