Just been flicking through the BBC website looking at results from other events and halfway down a report entitled:

"England win archery silver"

I find 1 sentence about the men pairs trap:

"Aaron Heading and David Kirk weighed in with a third English shooting medal, claiming bronze in the men's trap pairs"

If I had not been flicking through other sport results I would never have known about it.

Please find below a letter that I have sent to the BBC & ITV regarding their lack of full coverage on the common wealth games.

I don't know about you but I feel very strongly about that fact that there is no support of coverage of the fact that Steve Walton and Steve Scott will be bringing home GOLD!

I'm even more shocked that I am having to write this email and create the facebook group instead of our clay shooting body THE CPSA!!!!! This should be your job!

Please copy the letter if you feel as strongly as I do and send it to the BBC & ITV, bombard then with e mails to show we do actually care!

Face book page is:

"Fair coverage for Clay Shooting on TV!"

please get as many people as you can to join this group and see if we can make the news!!!

BBC contact:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/

click on make a complaint & follow the instructions!

ITV contact:

viewerservices@itv.com

Please also pass it onto anyone who you think it might be worth sending it to!

To Whom it may concern;

I am writing to you to express my shock at your distinct lack of FULL coverage on the Common Wealth Games.

Yesterday Steve Walton won GOLD at the mens pairs in Double Trap shooting and Gold at the mens single Double Trap shooting and Steve Scott won GOLD at the mens pairs in Double Trap shooting. I am shocked that they did not even get a mention let alone an interview. You seemed far more interested to tell us how the swimmers had got a "deli belly" when quite frankly I don't care to hear about the fact that they have diarrhoea issue but would prefer to hear about the 3 gold medals our young shooters have won. You may have issues with Clay Shooting as a sport but there are thousands of people out there who would like to know their progress. I think that by not televising their amazing success you are being prejudice against them and the sport that they not only love doing but are very good at! I have set up a face book group to show you just how many people love the sport and want to hear more about the success that they have achieved with minimal support from the country!

Facebook group "Fair coverage for Clay Shooting on TV!"

Iv'e done a complaint letter also. The coverage is abysmal from Auntie

My pal 23 year old Aaron Heading won the OT gold medal today, he went into the final with 123 ex 125 and shot 24 in the final, missing his first target, for a total of 147 ex 150. he also smashed the previous games record of 138.

Second was multiple world and olympic champion Michael Diamond on 146.

I've offered to take Aaron out for a celebration meal - I thought I'd take him to our local curry house :unsure:

BASC congratulates Commonwealth shooters.

8 October 2010

On behalf of its members, BASC congratulates England’s shooters for their success in the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

England's Steve Scott and Stevan Walton struck shooting gold in the men's double trap pairs event.

Stevan Walton also bagged a gold medal in the men's double trap individual. Tim Kneale took the bronze medal for the Isle of Man.

Mick Gault and Nick Baxter won silver in the men's 10m air pistol pairs.

Mick Gault, who is already England's most successful Commonwealth athlete with 15 medals over four Games, collected his first medal in Delhi as he attempts to pass the all-time record of Australian pistol shooter Phillip Adams, who won 18 medals in six Games

There was a bronze for England's James Huckle in the men's 10m air rifle individual event. Kenny Parr finished fourth. Huckle won a silver with Parr in the men's pairs 10m air rifle. The pair won also won silver in the men's 50m rifle 3-position pairs.

England shooters Abbey Burton and Anita North claimed a silver medal in the women's trap pairs.

Awesome performance by all!

Congratulations to all GB shooters and athletes.

Shame the coverage has been so poor for shooting, hopefully BASC can get involved and kick the media's backsides (i'm sure they are working on it)

Despite some really great results and medals there has been virtually no coverage :unsure: Sad that 1st class news for shooting will never make the front or back pages :yes:

Jon.

According to the BBC RED button headlines

England's Richard Brickell and Clive Bramley won bronze in the men's skeet pairs, coming third on an x-ring count.

Anyone know how you have an x-ring count on skeet?

I think the tie for silver and bronze medal positions was resolved by countback.

Canada's final round for both shooters was 49 and for England it was 48. Tough way to resolve a medal but that's the way most shooting team events are settled.

Here's a link to results.

Thanks for contacting the BBC regarding BBC coverage of ‘Commonwealth Games 2010’ as broadcast on 6 October.

I understand you feel our coverage of the games hasn’t shown enough of Gold Medal Winners. I note you feel these winners deserve more attention and should be covered in full.

The choice of sports to cover the order in which to place them is frequently very difficult. Editorial staff always has a wide range of sports to be fitted into the time available and their choices have to be selective. We know that a certain sport that's of great interest to one part of our audience may be of little interest to another but no matter how carefully such decisions are made, it's inevitable that some people will disagree with them.

However, we broadcast across television, radio and internet as well as interactive services such as BBC Red Button and Ceefax and this allows us to cover reports in greater detail with a broader range of informative not possible on one bulletin and, out of interest, you can access our coverage of the Commonwealth 2010 Gold Medal Winners on our BBC Red Button Service or our Sports pages on our website;

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/commonweal...10/default.stmr website;

I’ve registered your complaint on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, programme makers, channel controllers and other senior managers.

The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us.

Kind Regards

Deborah McEntee
