New Gun Shop in Bristol

Just a quick heads up for "local people" (we'll have no trouble here....)

I called into a new RFD in Bristol today -Brace's Shooting Supplies on the Wells Road. It's a brand new shop, open just two weeks. Dan the proprietor gave me a very good price for a gun I was selling, and offered some good deals on a replacement. Quite a small shop, but well stocked and speaking to Dan, I think he'd go out of his way to get you any gun he didn't stock and give you a good price.

Although the place was chocca with people, Dan gave everyone the time of day and couldn't do enough for people. I also had a chat with (I think) his Dad, who was also in the shop, also a very chatty & friendly bloke. It was a real pleasure to chat to a shop owner who was friendly, polite and enthusiastic -even though in the end I didn't buy anything. A real breath of fresh air after some of the closer shops I use, where if they deign to speak to you at all, they're aloof and condescending.

All in all a nice vibe and a good place to spend half an hour, chew the fat about shooting and maybe spend a wadge of cash. Quite a brave thing to start a new business in the current climate, I for one hope he does well.

Starting from the station, how far along is it?

Not from Bristol, so don't know where the station is! Heading south from the City centre, after the road splits Bath/Wells, it's about 1k further on on the Wells Road (A37).

Great! Just bloody great! I get dragged to Bristol time after time by her indoors who wants to see the eldest and his wife who work during the day so I'm dragged around the high street shops, bored out of my skull, for hour after hour.

THEY'RE JUST ABOUT TO MOVE TO PORTISHEAD!!!

You have my sympathy!

I can handle that. The station is about a half mile (ish) back towards the city centre. I'm not from Bristol, I'm from London but my son is at Uni in Bristol.
