Tam
Been on holiday all week & went for a look down the foreshore most mornings. The geese have either been in the mile high club or just a touch too wide At least I was alone & the ak-ak gunners shooting at dots in the sky were at work A few small skeins flew over either too high or as usual to either side morning flight was nearly over when a small skein of Graylags were on collision course with some steel shot alas they caught the wind & started to drift wide - I kept my eye on them as they turned in my direction once more! I thought initially they were going to be a bit high but as I shouldered my gun the sight picture was familiar & perfect picked out my chosen bird & pulled the trigger - head dropped instantly & it tumbled from the sky :( my old dog didn't need telling what to do as he scrambled over the sea wall & over the high fence in to the field behind - by the time I got there he was nearly back at the fence (look what I got boss ) took the goose off him & leaned over the fence & lifted him over Again it would have been easy to empty the magazine at the geese - I must be easily pleased
