Man-o-woods
Got my self some new permission on drilled rape, So a couple of weeks ago I thought I would have a drive around to see the boundries and note any foot paths. last Sunday I decided to go out set up a hide and put out some deeks (knowing its still to early for birds to be feeding on the rape) to see if I could spot some flight lines. Being a bit safety consious I made up some warning signs to put along the footpaths, warning of shooting and asking that people keep the dogs under control and keep to the foot path. So you can imagine my suprise when I see this guy with a puppy off the lead slap bang in the middle of my pattern picking up one of deeks. I was very tempted to let one off but didnt want to frighten the puppy. I asked him, did you see the warning signs? Yes he said. So what are you doing in my spread? I said, I didn't know whare you were, he said and just walked off. what a Numpty

al4x
tempting as it is but a warning shot can loose you your SGC so just unload and go and have a chat and educate them where the footpath is

Lez325
Never a good move to fire any rifle or shotgun close to an unknowing person, can only lead to trouble in my opinion! Les

Egg
The puppy would be better off putting him on the lead. Idiot. I bet he touches the railings if there's a "Wet Paint: Do Not Touch" sign next to them
MM
I had a cracker the other week. Sat in the hide facing the middle of the field. I see a police dog handler walking along the opposite hedge. He tramps right through the field, and next to my deeks pulls a Tika light out of his coat and drops in on the floor. He walked straight though the pattern, over to me and said "have you been in the top of this field, as i want to train one of the dogs and he might pick up your scent?" "We will be through in about an hour!" ******* idiots!!! I packed up and left before the dogs started, but not until i had managed a good half mile walk around where they would be working . Came back a week later to shoot the same spot, and as i walked to set up, i saw the Tika lamp still in the middle of the field Nice one PC plod, ill have that. Redgum
It makes you want to spit doesnt it, last year I was phoned by a farmer who had heard I do a bit of pigeon scarin. I couldnt believe me luck, hundreds of pigeons took off from the bean field as me and my dog approached. The saying' if it sounds to good to be true then it most probably is', always remember that one. Just when I had the hide up, pigeons already circling the decoys I noticed a glint at the far hedge. A women with a big lens clicking away at me, I packed up and put the gun in the truck and when down to her house. She wasnt a horrible lady and did apologies if she had disturbed my fun but she felt the pigeons are always being shot at and the farmer hated townies ( she was that ) and had put shooters in the field to get at her and was constantly spraying chemicals over the hedge on her car. I politely told her that she was out of order infringing on my human rights taking photos of me, her reply was she was photographin the pigeons. I ask ya. She was against cruelty to animals yet she had 2 eagle owls sat in cages in the garden. It does get on your nerves, I have also had people walk across a field from a footpath with out of control dogs, telling me I shouldnt be shooting when a footpath is 200yds away. They are the ones breaking the law, trespass and animal off leash. On this particular farm things are now easier as one of the walkers dogs killed a couple of turkeys, the farmer (normally a nice peaceful bloke) was driven to rage and had the walker by the throat, threatening to put a couple of barrels into the dog. Well the police came and no charges were made either way, now the farmer has put a few not so polite signs up. word travels quickly in my small local village, I havent seen anyone else walking this year on that farm. I find a few signs up saying' please keep to the footpath as MOD land mine testing in this field'. works a treat, try it out. The Essex Hunter
Never a good move to fire any rifle or shotgun close to an unknowing person, can only lead to trouble in my opinion! Les Quite right, there are more of them than us, and as things are going it will be harder to do what we like, so dont mess to much with the public. They have a big vote! I had 4 women who were lost the other day and were wandering around, so i slipped the gun, sent them in the right direction with a smile as you never know who they are married to! Chris B123
As long as she is not trespassing, she has every right to take photos. Your human rights dont cover this. If it did millions of people could sue Google Earth.
ccoope
For some reason I think we all meet these idiots. I was told that shooting the rabbits and pigeons on a livery was cruel, By some of the owners of the horses stabled there. These are the same rabbits that are digging holes which the horses can injure themselves and the pigeon's droppings cause the horses to loose their hair when it gets into the water and feed. Good job we enjoy what we do and aren't too fussed about been thanked for our services. Maybe you should take a paintball gun on the next trip. People might think twice about walking through your pattern if they get covered head to toe in orange paint.

I was sort of trying to make a point really, the cheeky mare asked me as I was leaving if I knew of anyone who could let her have a few rabbits for the owls.
