southdowns_stalking
Need a new pair of binoculars and unsure of what to get!! Just seeing what other people use and would recommend
Dunkield
I wouldn't take any notice of what other people use, I would get out there and have a look through as many as possible - then just buy the best ones you can't afford I have a piar of Zeiss BGAT's and I would only ever replace them with a pair of Leica or Swaro's. So as far as you poll goes, I would add Zeiss and Leica.

Egg
If I had the spare cash, mid-range I'd get another set of Swift Audubon 8.5x44(I miss my old set like crazy ) but if I had the spends to spare then I'd go for a set of Leica's - pick your flavour. Hornet 6
I would have voted for Leica, but you seem to have missed the best bins made from your list. Neil.

seeker
Try this link ... http://www.24hourcampfire.com/8x42.html when you get bino-binge fever there's some reasonable reading on annealing and accuracy .. And I'm still happy with the Leicas.

varmit
Steiner ranger pro 8x42. Had them around a year now. Very happy with them under all light conditions. Out lasted my S&B 8x56 scope at last light in the woods, comparable to a mates bins that were at least £1000 more than mine. gixer1
For a budget pair I would also say Barska's are good, they are around 2-300 quid for the 8/10 x 42's
groach1234
Both my parents have Swarovskis (one pair of SLCs and one pair of ELs) and i would most certainly buy a pair of second hand Zeiss BGAT/Diaylt over them. Save a few hundred pounds and get nicer feeling in the hand and a more crisp picture (IMHP of course). Of the two (7x42 or 10x40) i would got 10x40 Diaylt personally. fenix
You need to try before you buy. A good place to check out various optical kits is bird watching reserves. Some wildfowl and wetland trust places have optical shops, have seen a few smll local reserves that hve visiting optical retailers. Kay optical visit a reserve near me and sell used kt. Ps. I am happy with my Nikon sporters (£100), but would lvove my mates Leicas (£900), just cant justify the cash.

Colster
Orderd my self a pair of the £7 day shop.com 10 x 42`s or what ever they are last night. they get a very good review. Same here, had mine for a few months now and they are spot on. Pretty much bomb proof but for the price, not the end of the world if you lose them Definitely worth a punt.
