codling99
youll need to either get form filled in with farmers signature and address on and send it in to police,or maybe just ring them and give them details and theyll tell you if allready cleared
Redgum
Notify your Firearms department and if its not already cleared they will come out and check it over. I had a farm cleared a few years back before I had an open license. It took a bit of time for them to get around to it and the FEO preferred for me to accompany him. Its quite interesting to join them on the visit, they like to know that you have knowledge of footpaths, how heavily they are used, where stock can be found, save ground in the view of backstops,if you intend to use highseats in wooded areas etc. My FEO even wanted to know the soil type, though he took my word for it, he never got out of his police van, all he had to do was open his door and he would have had plenty of it at his disposal. Dekers
Talk to your FEO, each region handles this differently, just ask him how he wants it dealt with! ATB!
kdubya
you can do it as easy as giving a phone number for the feo to contact the land owner for details etc KW
vampire
Had to have all my land cleared, just gave feo the landowners name and full postal address, sit back and expect a long wait unless its already been cleared before
malkiserow
I was told to provide the signed form from the landowner plus a printout of a map of the land with the boundaries all clearly marked. You want the form signed and a copy for YOUR records for your own peace of mind. Don't trust other people to keep good records of your permissions. I am sure the odd piece of paper gets lost in a busy firearms department, it's not worth the agro of not having a copy. I've done a new land inspection (with my feo) of some new farms but now need to catch up with the paperwork to get it all done properly. My FEO was very appreciative of the offer to take him around the farms and inspect the land as it made things much easier for him when their maps are a bit suspect  It also gave him the chance to ask me about areas for safe and unsafe shots. Ian750
I was told to provide the signed form from the landowner plus a printout of a map of the land with the boundaries all clearly marked. Exactly the same for me, I was also told that in the event of land being cleared a long time ago and before records were computerised, land is being re-checked and cleared again for this reason, I haven't had a single piece of land that hasn't needed to be re-cleared so far! SilentKill
Well who are we to judge the powers that be! I'm hoping that I can get an open ticket on my next renewall! For now I'm happy it's been granted quickly and without any issues.
njc110381
I've heard of some forces saying that there's no such thing as an open ticket! I think if my force said that I may just give up!
