s/s or o/u

SxS tend to be lighter, but that means more recoil, depends what you want from the gun, a bashable lump of a baikal SxS or a pretty old english gun to enjoy. What is making you want to change from the O/U

:stupid:

The extra pound in weight can make a big difference when you're lugging it around all day, so some may favour the SxS for rough shooting and use an O/U for clays. I just prefer the looks and 'swingability' of my SxS.

I have been told an SxS is more difficult to shoot, but I've never found that to be true. Plus I don't really notice any extra recoil - and I use mine for everything! For whatever reason the SxS seems to be out of vogue at the moment and you can pick a nice gun up for a reasonable price.

All boils down to why you think you need a change from the O/U, and why you think a SxS is the answer? There's no right or wrong really - all just personal preference.

I would take what ever you feel you shoot best with. However when out all day a s\s is comfortable under your arm and personaly I always shoot a lot better with a s\s than an o\u.

Utectok, You brused finger was due to the gun not fitting you. I had that trouble with a short stocked gun which was easily cured by a small rubber stop on the outside of the trigger guard that rested against the finger so the recoil could not slam the guard against the finger when a shot was fired. Cost amout a fiver.

I have both O & U and S x S guns and love to shoot with them all, however I seem to get more satisfaction from shooting the S x S. As has been said the S x S is much lighter and can be carried all day without any problem but has the shortfall of a harder recoil. What you feel good about shooting is what is good for you. There is a lot of nice Spanish S x S guns at very reasonable prices out there.

Regards. :D
