enfieldspares
Any pump or self-loading shotgun regardless of magazine capacity MUST have barrels of 24" or longer and an overall length of 40". Thus the Mossberg Bullpup that did have a 24" barrel would nevertheless be illegal. Thank Mrs Thatcher. And other shotgun be it bolt action, lever action, falling block, Martini action or break open (regardless of if single barrel or double barrel) must if on s2 barrels of 24" or longer. Any other shotgun be it bolt action, lever action, falling block, Martini action or break open (regardless of if single barrel or double barrel) if the barrels are under 24" must be on s1 FAC. Back in the day you could have a smoothbore gun such as the Tukaway shot pistol without any certificate if the barrel was over 9". This is back in the pre-1930s BTW. In 1937 the Firearms Act of that year AFAIR made that 20" to hold a smoothbore gun without any certificate. It was AFAIR in 1968 and the Firearsms Act of that year that the 24" barrel length first comes in and the requirement to now have a Shotgun Certificate. Thank Roy Jenkins although until Mrs Thatcher multi-shot pump and self-loading guns were classed as s2 the same as side by side and over and under shotguns if over 24" barrel. If under 24" they were s1 and it is, as said, Mrs Thatcher that brought in the s5 classification of any pump or self-loading shotgun with barrels under 24". But I'm guessing that the OP has already found out all that in the eleven years since he started this topic thread! Gordon R
The OP might have remained in ignorance, as he was banned a long time ago. His coarse and badly written posts might have had something to do with it.
Green hornet
I used to have a 18inch barrel over and under on my fac.I was out blasting pigeons with it and the game keeper came over for a chat and nearly had a heart attack until I showed him it actually was legal and conditioned for it 🤣. TIGHTCHOKE
Browning A5 with a 13" barrel, allowed for special uses, like removing car windows.
