al4x
in the cabinet it has an uncanny knack of keeping out of gunshot. Its the one that called in on tuesday night went all the way round the field the far side of the hedge to come at the call upwind and the first I knew about it was when it was standing 10 yards in front of the truck looking in sadly the wrong side for a shot. Its that one that tried the same when you called that day round the farm, its days are numbered a first light attempt will be made on saturday
Lez325
Be Nice if you see him posing like that through a cross hair But that seldom happens in my experience  Les Edited December 9, 2010 by Lez325

garyb
I'd be tempted to bait it where you saw it this morning with a view to ambushing it Saturday morning will be a waste of time if he's 500-600 yards the otherside of the farm
SilentKill
almost taunting the farmer! Its time will come! :yp:
al4x
oh no he's living in the wood behind, I'll bait with cat food in a spot just to the side of that, when we had snow you could see where it had been lying up. Having baited the other night and it taking 15 minutes to find the bait just managing to take it away too easily before a shot could be had it shouldn't be too hard
njc110381
I'm beginning to think that a Deer carcass is the way forward for Foxes. Keeps them busy for days!

TJ91
cant beat horse hoof clippings, wear gloves when handling though, the smell is unreal when my girlfriends horses get done we throw them out in the fields and the foxes seem to come from far and wide to pick them up! arjimlad
I hope you get him ! Can the experienced CF foxing chaps on here comment on whether they would take a shot at that fox in that location from where the photographer was standing? Especially with frozen ground, I would not personally try it. I ask this just for my own education. Thanks
garyb
Yes. But I do know the land. Frozen ground dosen't come into it...a v-max doing >3600Fps isnt going to bounce

Jamie_
Cracking picture. I went upto one of my permissions for the first ever time in daylight on Tuesday and managed to call a decent sized fox into about 30yards. They are very nieve on the permission and the owners don't want them shot so I let him be, it was nice to see one in daylight at such close proximity, it looked in fine condition too.
