hodge911
just sitting here wondering to myself what would be better on my .22lr [ruger 1022] in respect of a fixed mag or a variable mag one . used for bunny bashing at around the 70/80yd mark . got a nikko sterling game king variable on there at the min . so whats your opinion please
kent
thats a long way for your average shooting distance, so i assume its a maximum of 70-80 yds. In which case 6x power would be fine and something like a meopta or hungarian S+Bender 6x42 would be worth a look IMO. But so much depends on your own wish list in a scope
henry d
I just changed mine from a fixed Leupold compact to an AGS swat as I don`t lamp many rabbits now, as we have them down to a low number. The variable I have now is great for sniping as it is a variable mag and has mil-dots so I don`t need to estimate hold over. In summary I would say, fixed for lamping and variable for static sniping. Paddy Galore!
what he said got a fixed 6x44 edgar bros on my semi for lamping, also use a 3-12x40 VX1 on a bolt action, guess what the mag is when i use it for lamping?
MC
I have a Hawke 3-9 x 50 mildot scope on mine and I can't remember the last time I changed the mag. It is always set on

If you have a problem, what is it, simply buy a scope that makes that problem go away
