sako751sg
Watched this wee roe scraping for grass for 3 days and every time i saw it there was no old dear with it.Snow was well over a foot and without the old doe i thought it would be better off in the freezer.Got within 100 yards and took it with the .243.Straight down and a good choice for the bullet.Very thin and one of the smallest youngsters i have seen at this time of year.In the pic the roe is the dark dot just below the trees. Also went a walk on Boxing day with Mac and Rab.Ended up with 6 pheasants,a red leg and a cushie.Snow there was a shocking depth and very hard going with the birds not venturing very far out.Fed the feeders after it with the jeep and some of them are getting emptied every 3 days, mostly to the pigeons but i suppose they need a feed like everything else.Just managed to get it all done with the vehicle and saved a lot of sweating.Great to see the back of the snow for a while and get back to some sort of normality. Fishermanpaddy
Good shots (both ways) . Looks like your springer earned its keep that day, it must be standing in a foot and a half of snow.
