Hi

Been invited roost shooting in a woodland :)

Anybody any advice on shot size, load & choke please ?

Will be using my 12g semi auto multi choke :)

was thinking 1/4 or 1/2 choke ?

I have 30g no6 fibre 12g carts, would 32g no7 Fob Choc be any good.

Never done this form of shooting before :)

Depends on the weather and height of the trees. If the trees are very high the birds will be high so you may need half choke and 6's; also if the weather is calm the birds could be quite high. I use 7's for Roost Shooting and they always do the trick for me. If you can look for droppings were the birds are roosting and then stand on the downwind side, preferably try and get a clearance on the downwind side as the birds will have to turn into the wind to land. In my opinion roost shooting is the most challenging shooting you can get.
