Will be using my 12g semi auto multi choke was thinking 1/4 or 1/2 choke ? I have 30g no6 fibre 12g carts, would 32g no7 Fob Choc be any good. Cranfield
What you have seems fine. In the first few trips the hardest thing to do is to ignore twigs and smaller branches.

As you say trying to ignore the 'twigs and smaller branches'
ollie
Depends on the weather and height of the trees. If the trees are very high the birds will be high so you may need half choke and 6's; also if the weather is calm the birds could be quite high. I use 7's for Roost Shooting and they always do the trick for me. If you can look for droppings were the birds are roosting and then stand on the downwind side, preferably try and get a clearance on the downwind side as the birds will have to turn into the wind to land. In my opinion roost shooting is the most challenging shooting you can get.
Scully
Great fun....your cartridge/choke combination is fine(I use 1/4 through my auto')but get yourself a snood or one of those woollen ski masks to hide the white of your face glaring up at any birds coming in(presuming you're white of course!)You should look like this.... :yp: !
