jonesbach
bought a bettinsoli 20g from sportsman gun on offer a few years back..price tagged £700 or so, didnt pay half that! cracking gun, nice engravings, multichoke and shoots just as well as my 12g beretta silver pigeon. for that sort of cash though, you could get a s/h top make gun if you look around. ATB in you search.
Bobba
I've a Miroku Mk 60 Grade 1 30 inch barrels which you can get new for about a grand. Great piece of kit. Light if you're doing a lot of walking. The only downside is it's fixed chokes 1/4 and 3/4. So being Bristol based I popped up to Nigel Teague's and had it multi choked. My 2nd gun is a bettinsoli Silver Leaf 30 ins barrels. Multi choked. Heavier than the Miroku by nearly a pound.Had good reviews. New in Aug 2010 it was £700 Look in Gun Trader (On line) the gun search can be narrowed down to bore and county to gun dealers near you. UK Gunroom (on line) is also good source of 2nd hand sales. Sportinggun.co.uk has many reviews on 20 bores to give you a general idea Good Luck
Dekers
To be honest a Silver Pigeon is nice in 20 (or any guage) but you will not find a new one for that money. I actually rate the Benelli Semis in 20, and you can certainly find one of them for £1k. My view is you either have a lot of money or a serious reason for a 20g. 12g are the workhorse, and talk of 20g being boys/womens guns are bull, some have a genuine need but think carefully before investing. ALL the women use 12g in top competition and I think she was 15 or 16 when Charlotte Kirwood won the Commonwealth some years ago with a 12g, she has also done well in the Olympics since. I have been after a good serviceable 20 for years, 12g work for me and many others but I'm still after a sensibly prices used 20 for the odd situation. There must be a lot of used ones out there sitting in peoples cabinets from when the lad grew up or the misses got bored with it...anyone got one gathering dust in the back of the Cabinet...Cheers. ...and 20g Carts cost more than 12 as well! ATB!
