I feel for you Bud!

I lost BOTH my permissions and now just go now and then to the clay grounds, I will eventually get round to trying to find a Beating position again somewhere and see if I can't get some permission that way again!

If you can find a local shoot offer to help out with the pen building, feeding, and later in the season beating for vermin permission! :good:

It's worked for me and I spent YEARS looking and I am talking nearly 12 years of searching for permission and up here it seemed like the ONLY way to get it.

I knocked on farmers doors and left cards etc with insurance details etc etc I must have spent about £500 on fuel just doing the door to door and got nowhere. It was a friend who put me in touch with the local game keeper at his place I got beating and got vermin shooting as payback :good::yes:

im in the same boat.i want to start going shooting (air rifle) but theres nowhere near me where you can go.theres a farm in shiremoor near whitley bay its wick with rabbits but you will need permision, someone told me the farmer is a canny fella and he wouldnt mind as long as your just using air rifles.i havent got round to asking him as i dare'nt knock on his door n ask lol.years ago 70's 80's me n a few mates used to shoot in tunstall hill woods, thats in sunderland, plenty rabbits there but with the strict rules on gun law i dare'nt go there now incase someone kicks off.but id love to get back into the shooting as i need a hobby

tunstall hill woods is a nature reserve now mate wouldnt be going there with ya gun mate.i shoot the fields around it with permission but steer well clear of there.only takes one member of the public to see someone there with a gun get the wrong impression then mr plod is crawling allover.

yeah i wouldnt go shooting up tunstall now or anywhere else without permission.i used to shoot on the farmers land next to tunstall hill, the farmers name was rolly (used to talk funny) but he died and his son richard owns the farm now.anyways its rubbish on his farm as i went there for 4-5 years and only seen a handfull of rabbits and theres not many wood pigeons and a few partridge's,the tunstall hill woods is the place for rabbits.i remember years ago i used to sit under the trees in tunstall woods and make a call exactly like a wood pigeon's call, then pick them off as they landed near by lol.great days they were,i dont have a gun now but if i get permission ill get one.the guns i had years ago were bsa super airsporter s and a webley tracker.the tracker was a good gun as it was small and great for power.back in the day air arm guns were the best but were dirt expensive £600 for bottom of the range.there was a german make aswell called wierach (might have spelt that wrong) my mate had a hw80 cracking gun that was.

the postcode you gave is a farm and if you google steve smiths there is no post code

and i know its a shooting ground i have been clay shooting about 5 years back and on the air rifle range 3-4 weeks back :good:

it takes nothing to pop a google map on from dinnington or give an explination

might be just me but im not lazy if im gonna give advice im gonna give it so it helps :good:
