andythechicken
Ok Last day of game shooting today and as I was cleaning the shotgun it got me to thinking what does everyone else do if they don't use the SxS out of season. Anyway this is what I have done. 1.Clean barrel bores with Napier gun cleaner, couple of squirts, then the bronze brush followed by 2 or 3 half sections of kitchen towel wrapped around the jag with gun cleaner sprayed on until they come out clean, couple of dry patches, then lightly oil the sheepskin pad and push through a couple of times. Wipe action with cloth with gun cleaner on. 2.Clean out ejectors with gun cleaner on a bud then put some napier VP90 gun grease on ejector mechanism and on shoulder and sleeve of barrels and action. 3. With gun oil soaked rag make sure all external metal work covered with thin coat of oil. 4. Stock - Rub in some walnut gun stock oil. 5. Put away in gun cabinet with gun barrels down Any comments Cheers Andy
SPEEDY
I shoot Bunnies, whistle Foxes or pump SSG's into Boars
arjimlad
Hit the pigeons with it ! A SBS makes an easier hide gun than an OU due to the lesser gape. I always clean it thoroughly, then wipe down exterior with an oily rag after each use.

andythechicken
I go vermin shooting with the rifles in the Summer. Just got a .20BR that shoots flat to 250 yds. Andy
CBL
Andy - your proposed cleaning regimen looks pretty comprehensive but key is ensuring you don't leave fingerprints all over the gun. Use a cloth when handling the gun or wipe it down before placing in the cabinet and all should be fine. Final suggestion - put in a Napier VP90 corrosion inhibitor in the gunsafe. For £9, it will protect the interior contents from rust for up to 1 yr.
