Semi auto guarantee period

Hi Folks,

I was in my local gunshop having a look/feel of a couple of sa 12g's and was told that the Winchester SX3 comes with a 12 months guarantee, which looks poor compared to the 3 years you get with a Hatsan.

What guarantee periods did anyone get with their new semi auto?

Cheers

edit - the shop was R&K Stockcraft in stony stratford - their new price for a Hatsan is £395 - a bit steep?

I've bought quite a lot of stuff from Andy King at R&K, guns are usually cheaper there because he only puts a fixed amount on top of the cost price regardless of the cost of the gun, so a cheaper gun may seem more expensive if that makes sense, but the aftersales and quality of service is worth paying for.

I'd always go back to him.

Actually, to be fair, his price on a Winnie SX3 composite is £886 against over a grand rrp, so not knocking him completely.

He was a touch chagrined when he asked if I'd scrapped the Sabel (which he'd quoted £120 plus to fix) and I told him a private 'smith had fixed it for not much money in about half an hour - thanks WB!. He said I'd been lucky :lol: Nowt tastes like sour grapes ;)

Anyway at least this time he was more enthusiastic and less pompous so it was a better experience than I've had there before.

He did say to me that he had a fixed margin rather than slavishly doing rrp, so if he's on 25 %, he should be doing alright - explains the posh motors outside

He also sells a huge amount of guns for a small shop, last time i spoke to him, he was averaging 45 licensable (sp?) items a week - surprised he hasnt gone off on the first of his post season skiing trips yet :lol:
