bindi
I have heard that if you have more than 250 cartridges in your house and it burns down that the house insurance mightbe invalid, anyone else heard this??? thanks bindi
henry d
Boll0x,as a firefighter I have been to several fires with ammo in.The most memorable was a thatched roof that burned the house from roof to ground, and they now have a nice re-build going on and no probs. rarms
Best bet is to ask your insurance company. They all differ, if in doubt get them to write a letter to you telling you it is ok
henry d
Stuartp No it burnt down because of rats(tree or otherwise)eating through cabling, and the fact there is only a 2" main there for this house alone, and the nearest fire main was 1 mile away The Brigadier wasn`t too worried as he was sailing in the Virgin islands and was pleased we saved some of the best pictures from the house. Looked like he HAD a nice cellar too but as there were loads of cartridges nearest the fire we ****** off sharpish

marlin.45
NFU didn't query mine. Our thatch went up last Jan and the fire dept had to grab my 2lb of black powder from the kitchen but weren't worried about cartridges (though the fire hadn't hit that part of the house - at that point)
coupe312
as fire as i know a bottle of aftershave is more dangerous in a fire than a box of cartrdges.
