Richard.Hosgood
Hi, have got my sgc, and in the lead up to getting it have been using a friends 682 silver action. Lovely gun, I get on OK with it and it fits well. He's offered it to me for £1000 including slip and a full set of chokes - question in, is that good value for this gun? I understand it's a rare gun, condition is good to very good, few marks on the barrels as in light scratches, and some marks on the end of the pad on the stock (easily replaceable??) so, should I bite his arm off? Reason it's for sale at £1k is that is what Avalon offered him no quibble as a trade in. Cheers! Rich
Gordon R
I don't think it is rare and I don't think it is cheap.
welshwarrior
They are not that rare but they are the best 682 IMHO which is why I still have mine. Nearly bought another the other week from Philip Morris in Hereford that was immaculate not a mark that was £950 from a dealer look on Guntrader normally under 682S saw one of 650 not so long ago. I would say his is expensive.
Gordon R
I am amazed that a gun dealer has offered £1000 for a gun described as good to very good, few marks on the barrels as in light scratches, and some marks on the end of the pad on the stock. Very, very, very generous.
Richard.Hosgood
Thanks for the input - exactly why I asked the question, to get some input from others! Will do a search about, see if I can find reason to haggle! It is indeed a cracking gun to use, would love to own one

I make them sound worse than they are tbh, I'm just overly picky! The woodwork and action are A1
Scully
Nearly bought a mint one last week for £900.Lovely gun...they were THE clay gun back in the '80's,and are (in my opinion)the best looking of the 682 series. No engraving,no gold trigger,a lovely rich purple/blue.An all round beaut'! utectok
In good nick you can spend 1k on a 682 lot of nice guns inthat price range tho. I say if you keen you'll soon put more money through the gun than you spend on it! I must get through 7k carts a year at £150 a thousand!! My 686 cost £
sage 100
Sorry chap that is a bit strong
Treestalker
I've seen some battered 682s on dealers shelves for around £900 and 682 Gold Es for £1500 that look like they've been run over. 30" 686's and 687's are £850+. If a private seller is desperate for a quick sale then you will find bargains. Down south here you'll struggle to buy a decent Beretta cheap. I don't think £1000 is a lot of money if you shoot the gun well and you're happy with it.

retromlc
i doubt Avalon guns would offer £1k,unless he was spending serious money, they would be pushing that out the door for probably £1300,knowing the kind of mark up dealers put on,despite their usual bleat about only making £60 a gun.and if describded they won't get £1300 that for it.My advise would be to CALM down, don't be desperate to own,a decent on will always turn up and for prob the same money if immacutate or cheaper if a bit used as you describe
Gordon R
Avalon might well be offering £1000 - in which case they are very generous. If they are not - what kind of friend would that leave you with? Assuming it's a minter - offer £750 or walk away and get a new friend. Am new to this, hence why wanting experienced peoples opinions. But he defo has been offered £1k from Avalon for it, no doubt about that, have witnesses! Cheers all! HDAV
If he is buying a brand new DT10 on finance I don't doubt they offered £1k trade in, if he just wanted to sell it to them for cash .......£500 or there abouts is my guess Edited February 28, 2011 by HDAV
