Got a second hand one yesterday and went out for a play this morning 1 pigeon 1 magpie 1 squirrel and a vixen.

I tried various cartridges it does not seem to like gamebore 32 oz much they seem to not quite get ejected. I had some old Baikal’s that it loved only problem none left now.

Has anyone got any advice on what type of cartridge works well with this gun?

Most cartridges that are 67mm (2 3/4") should cycle with no problems. When cleaning the shotgun, make sure you clean the two gas ports that you can see if you look down the barrel.

+1

My own gun cycles anything, but I clean it after every use. Very easy to clean. I am definately happy with mine.

hi,

i got rid of mine ages ago and missed it like hell so just got another, generally if you stick to 67mm or longer and 28g and over they are fine, i personally always use either peter coppin's 32g no5's (70mm) or eley maximum 34g no5's (70mm)for rabbits/pigeons and i've got some lyalvale supergame 42g no3's (70mm) for if i bump into a fox but the no5's will do the job at a sensible range.

like someone else said make sure you clean it and it'll be fine.

have fun :good:

my old one would cycle anything down to 24g but the new one struggles that low. Only had 50 or so carts through it at the moment so still got some loosening up to do.

been shooting nobelsport 28g and cycles well with them. as said before 67mm are better and keep it clean :good:

2 3/4 " usually 70mm cart case, cycle no problem in my 3" escort

but 2 1/2" seem to cover 65mm to 67mm carts case Eley carts are 67mm stamped on them but classed as 2 1/2"

Lyalvale carts seem to be a true 2 1/2" / 65mm cart

67mm cycle no problem , but with 65mm can only use one in chamber and one

in mag , put 2x 65mm carts in mag it will try to feed them both and jam the cart lifter

I took the escort apart to clean it last night it was badly needing it. I have 2 questions to ask the first one is where can I get a new o ring? The other one is having looked at a few videos on the net as how to strip an escort they differ on when to put the o ring on is it before the barrel is put on or after the barrel is on?

before you put it on

go to a plumbers shop, get a bag full for next to nout

just take it with you and tell em you want some that size

myne recycles any 2 3/4 inch or bigger regardless of weight.

lucky that i have no use for any 2 1/2 inch cartridge

above the Gas piston (big metal jobby with the spring on it that slides on) and before the barrel goes on. give the o ring a small rub of oil before you put it back on, stops it drying out and perishing :good:
