Spara Dritto
Was talking with a friend and both agreed how useful it would be to shoot with one of these if you missed you could see your lead!
semiautolee
yes that friend would of been me what do you think guys?? i think it would be a good idea. it would also be good to catch your shot of the day on video aswell
huffhuff
You could use something like this. Not exactly from the eye but depending on where you mount it (fore, end of barrel), would get a similar result! http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/dogcam-bullet-hd-camera.html
Spara Dritto
Even mounted down the rib youd still be able to kill i recon, use the camra as the barrels and look at the clay!
HDAV
you need..... http://www.clay-angel.com/ much better than a camera its a full package that allows you see in slow motion where and why you missed! Video is a bit slow to start but see here: http://www.clay-angel.com/shot19.html http://www.clay-angel.com/shot17.html I havent used it but seen it used on a lesson and the results are amazing I was able to listen in on the analysis section after the shooting. There are a few coaches who can give you a clay angel lesson if seeing it helps you learn Edited March 14, 2011 by HDAV
stubby
just an outdoor extreme sports camera would do, I picked mine up cheap as my son worked in a shop, but have seen them in a few big sports shops at around £99 or less mounted mine with the velcro straps provided to the side of my semi, gives around 2hrs worth of record time with the memory card I use

I think Sage designed/developed the system http://www.clay-angel.com/ (no offence Sage but i dont think your talents lie in web design ) Edited March 14, 2011 by HDAV
semiautolee
sage built the clay angel camera and designed it so that where ever you point the gun it will see your target. good job dennis.
SteveoM
Was talking with a friend and both agreed how useful it would be to shoot with one of these if you missed you could see your lead! if it was sub £250 I would buy one. Im waiting for the prices to drop on the small hd cams used on rovs then I may make one that fits into the 2nd barrel like a choke with the firing pin removed abit like the lasers you can buy if you know what I mean. HDAV
that fits into the 2nd barrel like a choke with the firing pin removed Why remove the firing pin? Or are you dumb enough to put a live cart into a barrel you have blocked? under the barrels is fine but the whole operation is pointless unless you can do something with the footage (which is what clay angel does!) huffhuff
I can't see any prices on the clay-angel? How much does the setup cost? In terms of biometrics, what data is it recording? Is the above video the slowest it will go and is that the actual quality? Other than instant replay at a slower frame rate, what else does the software 'do'? Cheers Ben

Breastman
I'd be interested to know how that eye-cam was mounted I've got one of those sports action cameras that Stubby has and i can mount it to my semi/pump using the handle-bar mount but it means you can only see the tip of the barrel, rather than the whole gun. It comes with straps that you can wear as a 'head band' but unless you pull them tight enough to crack your skull the footage isn't very stable, plus the view is still well off-centre Mark

SteveoM
and only using one barrel, what be the point in this It would enable me as a newbie to clays to analyse my shots ie how bad I misted. The camera should be perfectly aligned and easy to install The firing pin was removed to stop anyone commenting on the safety issues of blocking a barrel. HDAV
It would enable me as a newbie to clays to analyse my shots ie how bad I misted. The camera should be perfectly aligned alingnment wouldn't automatically be perfect and unless you know what to look for (out of body ability) you won't know why you missed only perhaps where.... Issues with lifting yourhead, gun mount, fit won't be picked up Edited March 15, 2011 by HDAV
wildfowler.250
Was talking with a friend and both agreed how useful it would be to shoot with one of these if you missed you could see your lead! That looks brilliant. The question is how much and how far is the picture clear for? would have to be good to about forty/fifty yards. Slow motion is not such a big deal
