Shame your not turning them out stubby after all your work , but no doubt like me you enjoy the buzz of doing DIY kit

So whats your next project? cant keep a good DIY'er down ;)

well, was hoping to try my hand at reloading 410's, but cant seem to find anyone with info about tools to do by hand, rather than an all in one type machine :hmm:

I think crow/magpie deeks will be the next moving decoy to work on, not a pecking type though

Well done that man, excellent inspiration, and sourse of components.

I've been in contact with the supplier and am about to order a number of units.

I've put my engineers hat on for a while, and have a few simple design changes in mind that should make the device a little easier to make and a little lighter to carry.

When I make some progress I'll post a few pictures.

McF, consider yourself on standby; we've got a project on.

well sat in my shed today and made 7 in a few hours, a couple each promised to mates, leaves me three to go with two already made, so have five to try out next week, along with a new crow decoying idea Ive been given....

Nice one stubby. I have an idea to make this a bit quicker to assemble although you will lose the true pecking motion - but there will be movement. Principle is the same though. I'll let you know when i've mocked one up :)

well, Ive cut the build time down considerably, I bought a new soldering iron, the one I was using must be 19yrs old, new one only cost a £10 from maplins, and well happy, so I may just go into production after all :hmm:

have made up 12 so far, gave 2 each to a couple of shooting buddies, leaving me 8, plus 4 motors waiting to be put together, rigged up a wiring loom so I can run 5 from a 6v battery and had a call from a permission thats heaving with rabbits and pigeon so off out there on wensday for a test run with the peckers, Ill stick the video up after that to see the results on the field test

i have also bought some of the small yellow motors from Hemlock media and they were delivered the next day. The guy there was really helpful.

glad your giving it a go, mine took 4 days to arrive,

had my visit to the farm today, after the farmer told me about the 100's of pigeon, not a bloody sausage today

should have known, 1st rabbit head shot with the rimfire, kicked its way under the railway fencing and therefore unretreavable :/

and then the day just got worst, lovely weather, but only crows and magpies, which I hadent set up to decoy for, so have around 2hrs worth of the "pigeon peckers" pecking, and thats it

I'll try and get out friday on the rape, see if I get better luck
