Try before you Buy?

I think your gonna find this very hard to do. As many threads on here will say, its an area with lots of challenges and issues and you cant really do it cheaply in any way. For that reason I dont think the shops will want to advertise the frailities or show the actual cost of a half decent setup.

I asked for lots of input from guys on here who are actually doing it and found that the best way to find out what will and wont work and the kind of results you will get!

I know who this is, and have his number...

I asked about NV on the BBS years ago, and one of the member, may even have been a mod? (can't remember his name sorry - he is a NV dealer or was) offered to take me out for a look through his setup. He was based in Herts so may not be any use to you.

My regular RFD does a try before you buy thing with NV. They even had an open day a while back that had a range of scopes on rifles for you to shoot with... A range day in the dark!

Look up the Gloucestershire Gun Company if you can't find anywhere closer to home. Al is very helpful, honest and doesn't do the hard sell thing - that's the main reasons I go there!

Thankyou for that.My sister in law lives nearby in Welwyn Garden City so could stop at NIghtvision Supplies when visiting.

I believe if your going to spend a lot of hard earned cash on any NV kit then it will be worth travelling a few hundred miles if need be to get the gear you require before parting with your money.I never buy anything I don't know about.

Julian at Starlight nv will take you out for a test drive on his nv sights he is in Manchester

I've spoke to Julian and he's a very helpful bloke indeed.I did originally take a close look at the Archer NV add-on but I'm now thinking more on the digital side of things as I like the idea of using a dedicated NV Weapon Sight which you can use in daytime as well as night and with the Lamp if need be.
