beatingisbest
Does anyone bait squirrels? I have some pesky squirrels that need sorting out (if you know what i mean) I have tried bread and it kinda worked, i didnt have any peanuts which would have been my first option. Any tips would be most appricated. I thought about peanut butter but i thought id ask on here first.
lurcherboy
Definetely mate. Cheap peanuts from the local garden centre will bring them in. Bait for 3 -5 days and reap the rewards. Check out the reciepes section and enjoy a feast LB

Hunter
Me me me! Il do it for you I dropped my 54th squirrel today :o 3 today with the Stealth. Thats very good for forest shooting.. these squirrels are very clever but one by one I eventually catch onto them, learn how they move, where they live, and when they eat. Then out comes airgun, wait for a sunny day, and in I go. I know there are a couple of memebers here who bait squirrels very well, im sure they will give a few pointers when they see this topic. Must give it a go sometime
king ratcatcher
crushed up peanuts, or hole peanuts, as they hide them and they will come back for them

P03
Whatever you use just make sure they can't pick it up and take it away! I've found in the past that each squirrel has it's own preferred eating places and invariably they'll find food and take it to where they feel it's safe to eat. It pays to do the reconnaisance and then ambush the little B#####ds :o P03

Look for the pile of walnut shells where they have nicked the walnuts off the tree just before they are ripe. FM
Stealth Stalker
As most people have said peanuts in a bird feeder work well for me. I shot my 12th in 3 weeks yesterday. I got some good footage on the video camera as well, I just need to work out how to put it in the video's section. Cheers SS
24joy
Marathon bar, sorry showing my age, Snickers bar mash it up in your hand into a ball and stick it on the side of a tree. :o I think the smell of chocalate and the peanut oil they put in them can be sniffed out from quite a range. You also get to lick your fingers after you put it on the tree What do I know, it was only a few weeks back that I found out how to get the bone out there tail, never to late to learn

SNAKEBITE
How about a Topic bar (if you can still get them)? The old advertising line "What has a hazlenut in every bite?" Followed by the wag in the corner going "Squirrel ****!"
