Spike Reeve
The Sako quad is a nice rifle, the Anshutz has a better trigger but i didnt like the look of it also the bolt handle looked like an old fashioned gear stick! Cant go wrong with either. if you are looking to treat yourself though you could look at cooper rifles. hand built awsome build quality. scotland rifles
well i got shot of my cz for a sako quad. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and i wish i had kept the cz, not happy with the quads feeding of rounds at all the bolt is not a smooth as they all said it was, the build quality is not as good as i expected, my mate has a anny and thats not much better, so in my opinion only. i would go for a new 16" cz if i had to do it all again. bob. njc110381
Looking at what you have in your signature I'd be looking more towards a better scope for your .223 and putting the .223 scope on the HMR. If you have money spare why waste it? Use it for something that will give you a real advantage? I see you're local to me. If you want to try anything in my sig to give you a taster (you may decide to keep your HMR and get a Hornet or .243?) then just give me a shout. You're welcome to come and stick a few shots down any of them if you fancy it? One thing's for sure I wouldn't trade in the CZ. Perhaps get a decent trigger job, nice stock and perhaps some smoothing work done on the bolt but they're accurate as hell. No other maker is going to beat it. rimmie
Iv got the 16" heavy barrel American and it's fantastic you can get a trigger kit for £10 from south Yorkshire shooting supply's or like me do it your self by cutting 3 coils if the trigger spring mine breaks like glass now.that's the only thing wrong with the czs is the out of the box trigger pull. Mines got a loverly dark walnut stock with loads of grain running threw it beautiful gun
garyb
Just to slightly hijack the OP's thread... What new rimfires are there on the market, that don't "feel" like rimfires? I'm in the market for a new one, but I'm after something that almost feels like a centrefire in ergonomics and weight.
njc110381
I found that my mates Sako quad feels very bulky to me. And when he used my CZ he laughed and asked if I got it from Toys R Us?! There's a big difference between them, although the short bolt throw feels very strange when you're used to using bigger calibres and there's not a lot you can do about that. If you shoot a CZ and find it a bit small try a Quad.

Mungler
My oversight, Gary and Nick must have arms like.... I forgot you also had one of these quality RWS rifles with their smooth actions, ergonomic looks and light handling
al4x
Gary's must have arms like Popeye after having one of those RWS Titan fence posts... that was only in training for the Tika super varmint, must be worth nearly as much if you weigh it in. I'm sure my truck roof is dented from supporting it

Dekers
That's a bit previous - he still has today and tomorrow to top it If you guys are trying to make me bite you will have a long wait, read the OP, it is the most honest, accurate a realistic response so far! If he wants something that looks/feels special he will have to visit a steel works, gunsmith, and chop a tree down, nobody here can advise him about that as logic has gone out the window here, and we are now talking...I want. Nothing wrong with that, but NOBODY can quantify that except the OP! ....otherwise buy a CZ, nothing will give better results in the field!
