A friend of mine uses Bac to Nature for cleaning and removal of odour - it is entirely biological and is safe for animals - can even use it on them if they have an accident! It uses microbes I think to eat the matter that causes the smell so it is not masking but removing it. It really works - he has been using it on concrete and gravel for about a year and it is wonderful stuff. You buy it in concentrated form but it lasts for ages and in fact he finds himself needing to use it less often over time (seems to have a residual effect). :good:

I have seen a lot of skin irritations in dogs from Jayes Fluid/Battles Black. If you use it you must rinse it away thoroughly.

Virkon, Vetaclean Parvo, Safe4pets and Trigene are excellent, hypochlorite is good, but only kills bacteria whereas the others kill viruses and fungus too.

I use this Mount Slemish. I bumped into Norma (UK Rep) at a cat show and was very impressed with their products, which were specifically developed for use in a kennel environment - unlike ordinary household disinfectants. I use the eucalyptus scented one, but there's a good range of smells to suit your nasal preferences.

The Mistral stuff is ok, a bit wishy washy and nothing like as good as trigene but it is cheaper so you can use more.

I must admit, when I want a good de-stink and get the Jeyes fluid out, but only on a dry day when I can use it, rinse it thoroughly and keep the dogs out for a few hours to let it dry properly.
