Diceman
6.5, I read the bible too and I love a good debate. I have to say the old testament had me a little concerned. Are you comfortable with the teachings in Part One? Or are you one of those who would prefer that we move straight on to the NT?
gsm1968
Getting back to the original post of using God in a way to fraud people out of money is the lowest of the low. A lot of churches would find it difficult to prove they don't do this! I hope Blackla uses the money wisely, and doesn't come round to mine with some newsprint scare mongering

Wookie
Ok, so these things are known as 419 scams, and are mainly associated with Nigera. But... cybercrime and its perpetrators _tend_ to be colocated with the target of the crime, i.e. most US cybercrime is committed by US-based crims, etc. With that in mind, there would probably be little mileage in cutting the internet to Nigeria (a place with lots of oil that BP and Shell like a lot), as it is likely to continue. Going on to the religious part of things, nowhere does the bible define the size of the needle. People assume that it's a standard one, but it might just end up being a camel sized one. Or it could be aimed at people with very small camels.

They arent really a church they are a business instead. The word of God is free and meant for us all. You shouldnt have to pay for it. The needle part, hmmmm.... I cant imagine what the wod have needed a needle bigger than a camel for in those days.

Rede2Kite
Maybe I didnt explain fully what I meant. I refer to the term rich man as someone who has alot more than others by pure greed. Not because of what he posesse but by constantly wanting more and more and spending more time worshipping his riches and goods than God. I know from first hand experience as I was like this myself until I got a wake up call one day when I had a life changing near fatal accident. It put things into perspective! What really is important in youre life and what isnt! Getting back to the original post of using God in a way to fraud people out of money is the lowest of the low. Changing the subject slightly Why do we need religion ? If you are strong , kind and respectful to others , considerate and loving Is there a need for a God or is it salvation for the weak ?? I too had a life changing experience 4 years ago ( diagnosed with a brain tumor and other complications ) and still living with it, and so have Millions in this World have other problems and other troubles This has made me a happier person and to enjoy and be grateful to what l have (Every Day Is A Happy Day !) , and compared to the rest of the western world l am relatively poor (Money Wise !) . But have love and support from my Partner , Family and Friends ! So will l be going to Hell with Millions of others who dont believe So Question is ... Is there a need for a God ? As for the Scammers , you never Know they might be god fearing church goers ! ........................................ Grandalf
Rede2Kite - It seems you and I will be meeting - in hell of course! What these muppets of religious persons can't understand is that they are in heaven now. Look around you - THIS IS A BEAUTIFULL WORLD THAT WE LIVE IN - PURE HEAVEN. Enjoy it now because there surely isn't another one. If you are lucky enough to wake up every morning - enjoy the here - to hell with the hereafter that isn't going to happen. But have love and support from my Partner , Family and Friends ! So will l be going to Hell with Millions of others who dont believe So Question is ... Is there a need for a God ? As for the Scammers , you never Know they might be god fearing church goers ! You have many questions and they all are answered in the bible. I however am no expert but I will always try to help people to understand as I have found alot to be hard to understand aswell. The word 'religion' is word with a very broad meaning. Protestant, catholic, baptist, muslim, elim, athiest, there are numerous catagories which fall under this word and they all have different beliefs. So my answer to the question you asked if we need religion is that I do not have a difinitive answer as it is a word that is too broadly used and has too lose of a meaning so maybe my answer is no. However if you ask me ' do we need God'? Then my answer is most certainly yes as there is only one God and there is only one bible. The rest of these catagories I mentioned above are 'manmade' and they all have different beliefs which usually are broken off from a certain group and people who did not believe in something formed their own religious group. So my answer is there is only one God and in my opinion everyone needs God. Where do we all plan to go when we die?? If we do not repent from our sins and beg God for forgiveness we most certainly will not get any further than we are now. All of these things are explained in the bible and sometimes they can be hard to understand but its all in there. As for the last question about the scammers being church goers, anyone can go to church and bluff that they are Christian but If you purposely set out to hurt, scam, against others you have created a sin. If you do not repent and ask for Gods forgiveness, then you can be assured you wont meet God when you die. There are people who go to church on sundays and think they are safe. How wrong they are. God is not just for sundays, hes for every minuite of everyday. He doesnt forget about us everyday and remember about us on sundays. Even if tou dont go to church you can become a true Christian by reading Gods book for guidance and doing Gods will. As I said before I am no expert and I am only human but I will try and help people understand from my little knowledge of this subject from which I am forever learning and understanding. Are atheists allowed to share in this Nigerian financial bonanza as well? Surely hell would be far more fun - as soon as i'd fixed the Air-con. Personally though I'd prefer Valhalla! Its all rather irelavent though as theres no such thing as an afterlife- Its ironic- we talk about stoping nigeria from having the internet due to their money making scams with a sob story and the promise of future cash, but have suggested no sanctions against the people who push a sob story about an ilegitemate carpenter( or similar), despite them the not even offering the offer of cash :o (but a promise of a good time after death ) to scam a huge proportion of the worlds wealth and hide a predeliction for young boys bottoms :o . To anyone that reads the above paragraph and feels offended by it i apologise, It was written mainly in a fit of satyrical parody but i guess that while I (like i would guess many rational modern human beings) having the respect for the principles of coopertative living that most religeons propogate for example the ten commandments, I cannot accept as fact the stories presented in the bible and certainly cannot believe in an afterlife. I would have also a lot more truck with religeons if they sold a lot of their assets and used the funds to help their fellow man in the way that their holy books are always imploring. Grandalf
Blackla...The inside measurement is 31 and a 1/2" - I just can't seem to remember the rest of the things you wanted to know. Must be old age - or maybe something else... 6.5 Shooter...Atheism is definitely NOT a religion. Nor a hatred of god - you cannot hate something that you know does not exist. (It would be like hating the fairies at the bottom of the garden). You quote christianity as the one true religion but have you ever read ANY of the other 'good books' of the other religions. I very much doubt it. I have read most of them (all the way through) - they are all superbly constructed novels with much common sense and sound advice in them - but so have most best sellers. If I was going to be anything religious, which I am definitely not, then Bhudism stands out by a good country mile. Adults can make up their own minds - but I wish you lot would stop mucking up the minds of the kids.

henry d
Old Testament - Plagues of boils, an eye for an eye, stoning people to death, fire and brimstone, death and damnation. Really ? What about deliverance, covenant, disobedience, repentance and salvation ? Or are you just picking the bad as well as me the good ? You could have picked incest, rape, robbery and genocide too ! However the Decalogue can be condensed into Mark 12:28-33 New Testament - Love thy neighbour, turn the other cheek, the good Samaritan, curing the sick and rising from the dead. But which one is best? Neither, they bare indivisible Only one way to find out.......
