Boristhedog
I shot my first deer yesterday morning, a Roe buck. But not just any buck, it was a 6 pointer! He had what appeared to be a white eye (a cataract?). Shot at about 50 yards using a .270 Sako 85 with a Reflex T8 mod and a Trijicon 2.5-10x56 scope. The bullet was a 130gr Winchester powerpoint. What a start! Can it get any better? Edited May 30, 2011 by Boristhedog

njc110381
What a Deer to have as a first. Congratulations on getting in so close - 50 yards is just where I like to be taking my shots from if I can. Not only a great Buck, but some pretty respectable fieldcraft too. Nicely done. Boristhedog
Well done Boris.Nice rifle/scope combo you have there. What a Deer to have as a first. Congratulations on getting in so close - 50 yards is just where I like to be taking my shots from if I can. Not only a great Buck, but some pretty respectable fieldcraft too. Nicely done. If only I could take the credit, but sadly not . I'm a novice and both the rifle and excellent fieldcraft to get me to some 50 yards from the buck belong to Nick aka digger9523 from another forum (a specialist deer stalking one).
