Hi guys, I realise that the semi-auto topic has relatively been done to death  I was just wondering what the opinions are with regards to the maxus/SX3 V's the extrema2? Build quality, cycling of carts from 28g-60's, balance? I have used an extrema 2 a lot and have found it faultless so common sense would be to get one. I just thought I should enquire as to how the other two compaire and handle them before I spend my sheckles

Has anyone had any problems with the maxus/SX3?

I have been searching away as well but I thought if anyone had used all 3 it would be nice to hear an input :good:

i`ve used the sx3, my friend bought one.

actually a nice little gun. i only fired a few rounds.

watch for carbon build up under the o ring by the gas ports on the SX3 it causes the o ring to expand and taking the barrel off a nightmare

ive since gone back to a browning gold 3 1/2"

Other than not cycling 24grm Express carts (24g Eley are fine) my Maxus has been faultless. I prefer the feel to that over the Extrema and the friend (that shall not be named) that owns the Extrema prefers it over my Maxus. The Extrema certainly feel more solid i'll concede BUT not forgetting from new the Maxus is cheaper.

Cheers bud! If I was getting the the extrema2 it would defo be s/h. The 'lighter' maxis could be a plus for those nippy teal :hmm:

Just wrote out a whole reply and it didn't send  So this one might be a little brief...

Thanks for the replies! :good:

I looked at the A400,(nice gun) if I remember correctly...the second hand ones are quite dear?

The comfort looks nice! I looked up the M2's a minute ago and I don't think they are 3 1/2?

Cheers guys :good:

i use a 30" maxus, mainly on pigeons but also on wildfowl.ive been through a lot of semis and the maxus imo tops anything out there, great handling, light and fast loading.over the last few weeks its had over 500 shells through it without a clean and without a single jam.thats using 28 - 32gm 70mm.cant ask for a more reliable and great handling gun...

Why dont you get a Hatsan Escort LOL (only joking), even though i love mine :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

The maxus is a beautiful gun and id love to have one only a bit expensive, and i love the foresight ;) ;) ;)

I seen a A400 over the weekend and it looked and handled beautifully, it was £1250 though :/ :/ :/

Thanks again for all the input :good:

M2's are 3"

SBE's are 3.5"

:good:

poontang, have you tried the SBE,(or anyone else)? How does it handle?

sounds like just what I am after! you cant really say much more than that :good: It is either going to be a maxus or the xtrema2 <_<

Whats up with the foresight on the maxus?? I know what you mean about the A400. I just cant justify splashing out all that on a gun that is likely to get soaked and coated in mud

There can be only one - Beretta Extrema 2 :good: :good: :good: there is no alternative ;) ;) ;)

I tend to agree with you there. I am going to try a Maxus and then see which I prefer. I would like an xtrema with a shorter barrel though. the 30inch is a bit of a flagpole!

Thanks again guys :good:

A friend of mine has a SBE and I have stuck a few shots through it. It's a nice enough gun but feels too light for my liking. I like a bit of weight in a gun.

The Maxus is a nice gun, but again too light for me. If I was going for a semi to use on the marsh I'd go for the Xtrema.

Hi - I have been using an Extema for 3 years it is an excellent tool for any find of shooting shoots very well and is reliable. Only issue that I have is that I bought a "camo" trouble is that over the years the camo has worn off in places so would recommend you buy black.

Have you considered Benelli super black eagle - this is another good auto - my mate has used one for years and cannot fault it.

good luck with your seach

Thanks bud :good: Some weight is good for taking up the recoil and helping with the swing :hmm: I think xtrema makes sense but I will handle the maxus to see how light it is. I'll probably use the gun for lots of different shooting so being light to carry will benefit in some situations...decisions!
